Danger of extinction: Apple will manufacture only 8 million iPhone X this quarter

We had been announcing it for a few months, the demand for the iPhone X is plummeting . In other words, the iPhone X is a true sales failure .

What's more, all data indicate that sales of the iPhone 8 are higher than sales of the iPhone X in the first quarter of 2018. Perhaps the reason for its failure in sales is its high price, or perhaps its strange design.

Anyway, Apple knows perfectly that their new smartphone has not triumphed in the market as expected. Therefore, the company has decided to manufacture only 8 million units of iPhone X for the second quarter of 2018.

The iPhone X forms 35% of sales of smartphones at Christmas

According to the sources, Apple requested the production of too many units of the iPhone X in the last quarter. As a result, now the company will try to exhaust all the stocks that are stacked in the Apple Stores and authorized stores.

Apple sold a total of 77.3 million iPhones during the Christmas holidays of 2017. According to Tim Cook, back then, the iPhone X was selling more than the other models. And everything seemed to suggest that things would remain that way. But nothing further from reality, sales have been declining little by little until today.

According to Neil Cybart, analyst at Avalon, iPhone X models have contributed 35% of total smartphone sales in the Christmas holidays. What would be 27 million units.

But as we mentioned previously, sales have been falling little by little. However, as has happened on other occasions, Apple will continue to obtain great benefits although sales have not been very high. We will know more details about the sales of the iPhone X during the conference of fiscal results of Apple that will take place on May 1.
