You will not be able to use WhatsApp if you are under 16

WhatsApp Messenger will prohibit its use to minors under 16 according to its new terms and conditions. The new norm could begin to take effect as of May 25 .

This has been stated by WABetaInfo , the Twitter account that provides the greatest amount of leaks on WhatsApp Messenger from its beta versions.

According to the tweet, "in order to respect the new WhatsApp terms of service (available in the future, no later than May 25), WhatsApp will require you to have 16 years to use their services." Currently, the age limit is 13 years

WhatsApp Messenger could ban its services to those under 16

The regulations seem to indicate that children under 16 can not, legally, use the most popular instant messaging application in the world. However, we do not know how WhatsApp Messenger will verify the age of each user.

Today we have already seen how Telegram was banned in Russia and now it's WhatsApp and the minors. But the only viable measure would be the introduction of the DNI of each user when using the application for the first time. It is the only way that WhatsApp would have to prohibit their services to minors. It is a difficult regulation to comply with , and it already occurs now in social networks or in other areas such as the purchase of tobacco.

What do you think of the WhatsApp Messenger initiative and its new terms and conditions of service? Do you think the measure will be effective? Should children under 16 use applications such as WhatsApp and other social networks?
