Addiction to Instagram? Now you can know how much time you spend in the app

Virtually since its inception, Instagram became the fashion social network. And as such, it makes millions of users use it for many hours at the end of the day. From now on, Instagram will offer a feature that lets you know how much time your users spend within the application .

The functionality has been discovered within the Instagram version for Android , and reveals time management controls for the app.

Shortly thereafter, Kevin Systrom, Instagram CEO, acknowledged and confirmed that his team of developers were working on incorporating such functionality into the system.

"It is true. We are building tools that will help the IG community to learn more about the time they spend on Instagram. "

Instagram and its new time management

Precisely, ironic as it may sound, the arrival of new functions like this makes social networks increasingly addictive . Especially among the youngest users.

"Understanding how the time of use impacts on people is important, and it is the responsibility of all companies to be honest with this. We want to be part of the solution. And I take that responsibility very seriously. "

Recall that, recently, Instagram also incorporated new surveys with emojis to add in the stories of the application.

For its part, Google also announced several tools for Android that help users control the time they spend on their smartphones and tablets.

But Facebook (which acquired Instagram) and Google are not the only companies that aim to facilitate greater management of the time we spend using applications. Apple also joins the initiative in order to reduce the addiction to smartphones among children , incorporating more parental control options in iOS 12 , which will shortly be presented at the WWDC in June.
