If you have Twitter, change your password for security

Twitter microblogging network has made public a statement on its own social network by which it urges all its users to change their password as quickly as possible. This is due to the company's own error in storing these keys, so many were left bare, stored as plain text, and not saved in an encrypted way, a process known as hashing .

This social network, which has more than 300 million users worldwide , already suffered the theft of more than 30 million such passwords two years ago, and then were put up for sale by hackers, with rather murky purposes. That is why it is always important to be able to choose a key powerful enough not to be a victim of any type of theft .

We recently found a bug that stored passwords unmasked in an internal log. We fixed the bug and have no indication of a breach or misuse by anyone. As a precaution, consider changing your password on all services where you've used this password. https://t.co/RyEDvQOTaZ

Anyway, from Twitter is called to tranquility , because the problem has been internal to the company itself and it has not suffered any kind of attack, so these passwords should not have left their own servers . Even so, it is always advisable to update our passwords every so often and know how to manage them well .
How to change your password on Twitter

Log in to your account, click on the profile icon and select Settings and Privacy .
Click on the Account tab and then on Change password.
    Enter your current password.
Think of a powerful password and enter it in the box below.
