WhatsApp will continue to work on those iPhone with iOS 7

If there is an application that breaks the records of both use, traffic and implementation, that is WhatsApp. Created in 2009 and popularized very shortly after, it enjoys the approval of 1,200 million active users in the world , figures of vertigo, and virtually unrivaled despite going, technologically speaking, behind Telegram .

We have known in the blog of the application itself that it will stop being compatible with several older mobile operating systems, including iOS. As indicated in this release, as of February 1, 2020, WhatsApp will cease to work on iOS 7 and earlier versions . It should be remembered that this operating system of Apple saw the light in September 2013.

We assume that there will still be people using iOS 7, perhaps in some countries where access to technology is not as comfortable as in ours, or people who have old terminals that use as secondary devices. Be that as it may, there are a little less than two years left for this technological blackout , which seems like a more than reasonable term.

Those who are going to say goodbye
In addition to this there are more mobile operating systems that will stop working for the dates indicated below:

Nokia Symbian S60, after June 30, 2017.
BlackBerry Operating System and BlackBerry 10, after December 31, 2017.
Windows Phone 8.0 and earlier, after December 31, 2017.
Nokia S40, after December 31, 2018.
Version of the operating system Android 2.3.7 and earlier, after February 1, 2020, as well as iOS 7 and earlier.

For the rest, WhatsApp keeps updating and including improvements to make it a more usable app. It seems that they are working at a good pace and that they are living a new golden age , with the inclusion of the erasure of messages or the changes in the administration of groups a few months ago.
