IPhone XS and XR can change the depth of live photos

During the last event of September 12, in which Apple revealed to the world its new iPhone XS, XS Max and XR , in addition to the latest model of Apple Watch , the company showed a new interesting feature of the camera of their devices. As already happens in some of its competitors, now the new iPhone are able to change the depth of the photographs after taking them , thanks to the new A12 Bionic processor.

With this new feature, users can edit their photographs in a more complete way, with the possibility of regulating the depth effect of each one taken through the portrait mode of the phone. However, this has an important drawback, and that is that it does not work when taking the picture . That is, in order to change the depth, we have to take the photo from Camera, and then edit it later in photos, something that is far from the ideal.

Currently, through the Camera app it is already possible to change lighting effects in live portrait mode, without having to go through other apps, so some users have found it strange that it is not the same with the new function. For all of them, Apple has already announced that they will allow to modify the depth level when taking the photo . In this way, we will be able to verify that this is the level of the effect as we change the scene.

This feature will be implemented predictably in iOS 12.1, but knowing the ease that Apple has lately to delay releases of new features, it is soon to take his arrival as made. When it is here, we will have the possibility to create even better pictures from our iPhone, and Apple will be able to demonstrate again the power of the new A12 Bionic chip. Let's hope it does not take too long.
