Apple Watch's fall detection could have already saved a man

The Apple Watch Series 4 offers all kinds of features that help users improve their health and, in some cases, save lives.

One of these fabulous features of the Apple Watch Series 4 is the detection of falls. This emergency system could have saved the life of a man in Sweden .

Gustavo Rodríguez was cooking at home when he began to feel a sharp pain in his back , a pain that made him fall to the ground and hit him badly while the kitchen stove was on.

This is how the Apple Watch Series 4 saved its first life
The detection of falls of the Apple Watch Series 4 of Gustavo Rodríguez was activated and made the device ask if he wanted to call the emergency services automatically.

Gustavo, 34 years old, was paralyzed on the kitchen floor due to the sharp pain he felt in his back. Fortunately, his Apple Watch Series 4 reacted for him.

"I FELT AS IF SOMEONE HAD STUCK A KNIFE IN MY BACK."

Gustavo Rodríguez was cooking as he usually does. Suddenly he felt a strange tension in his back and, little by little, he began to notice how the difficulty to move his body increased.

"I TRIED NOT TO THINK ABOUT IT, BUT THEN I MOVED THE PAN AND A SHARP PAIN CAME."

Finally he fell to the ground, the pain was so intense that everything went black. I could not move. Then the Apple Watch asked: "Do you want to call 112?"

"MY APPLE WATCH NOTICED THE FALL AND ASKED IF I SHOULD MAKE AN EMERGENCY CALL."

Rodriguez mentioned that he managed to crawl into the living room and climb to the couch, but his phone was in another room and he could not recover from the pain. In the end he was able to call his stepmother from the Apple Watch , since he lived far away. He came immediately and turned off the kitchen stove.
