Confirmed: Face ID will work in any position on the iPad Pro

We are at the doors of a keynote and one of the star devices will be the new iPad Pro . Last year the iPhone was completely redesigned with a screen that left hardly any frames and this year the iPad Pro will follow this same line .

One of the consequences of an all-screen design is the forced removal of the element that has been the basis of the iOS interface: the Home button . Something that is directly related to Face ID, the new identification system that will also reach the iPad Pro, but in an improved way.

Face ID will work vertically and horizontally
In the iPhone X and XS, Face ID only works when we have the device vertically , its normal position we go. However, the iPad is different and can be used both vertically and horizontally.

If Face ID came to the iPad was necessary to work in any position, and so it will be in the new iPad Pro. The developer Guilherme Rambo has discovered in the code of iOS 12.1 beta .

The identification process will be identical to the one we have on the iPhone , it will be done vertically and then the system will be able to recognize us also horizontally. If the iPad can, this function may end up coming to the iPhone.

In addition to this we have found details of the new and powerful A12X processor , a chip even more powerful than the A12 with Vortex code. In addition it will also include an even more powerful A12X GPU.

In addition to this, thanks to the arrival of the USB-C port , the iPad Pro 2018 will be able to send 4K HDR video to external screens . This new feature will feature a new panel in the Settings application from which to control the resolution, HDR, brightness and other settings for connected external displays.

We expect great things from the keynote of the next day 30 , follow it with us and remember that it will start at 3:00 p.m.
