Users are unhappy with iOS 12.1 redhead emoji

Apple is not very thin in the creation of emoji. If a week ago was the bagel scandal with the inhabitants of the East Coast of the United States, today is the scandal of redheads .

With the latest update of its operating system for iPhone and iPad, iOS 12.1, those of Cupertino have included more than 70 new emoji . Among them, for the first time in history, are those of redheaded people . But not everyone is happy with the work of Californians.

The discontent with the emoji of redheads of iOS 12.1
Redheads around the world were happy when Apple announced that it would add emoji to redheads in iOS 12.1. It was time that, after so many years, his hair color appeared among those available. However, the joy was short-lived as there are not many options to choose from .

The main means by which people showed their displeasure was Twitter. The social network of the little blue bird was filled with dozens of opinions and comments of the most varied. This is what the Irish Post reports .

I was excited for the ginger emojis until I found out it wasn’t for all the people emojis. It’s its own emoji. Get me a ginger one of this emoji 💁🏼‍♀️ and then we’ll talk about how cool you are @AppleSupport

@Apple Really?! You promised us #gingeremoji. Where’s the facepalm, the shrug, literally any other face emoji that lets us choose appearance? This is all you gave us. SMH. C’mon... you can do better!

The reason for this widespread anger is that the new emoji of redheads have been treated as independent emoji , and not as existing hair options. This means that we can not choose a redhead doing facepalm or a redheaded doctor, for example.

Given the controversy, it is possible that Apple will solve it in a future software update , treating the redheads as options of other existing ones. Apple takes into account the opinion of users, and changed the design of the bagel to a more realistic one. But at the moment it has not been pronounced.

Nor is it known whether the problem is in itself of the Cupertino or is alien to them. The focus of the conflict could be Unicode 11 , the consortium that approves these icons.
