Apple Music Connect closes, the company's second failed attempt

Apple Music does not stop growing. Despite the competition, Apple's streaming music service continues to outperform and improve its numbers every quarter. However, there are certain aspects of the service that do not end up working , and sometimes it is best to get rid of those burdens in order to improve what works. In this case, one of those ballasts is the Connect section of Apple Music, or what is the same, the musical social network of the company.
Several years ago, before Apple considered launching a service of this magnitude (or rather re-launching Beats Music after the purchase of its parent company), they launched a kind of community that connected users with the artists on the platform. They called it iTunes Ping, and after not offering the results that Apple hoped it ended up disappearing as another of the company's experiments that never came to work.

When Apple Music was introduced, one of the great features of the platform turned out to be an evolution of Ping, which was now called Connect . Just by adding an artist's song to the library, you began to follow it automatically, and from that moment on you would be aware of everything the artist decides to share through his wall. It seemed simple, that could work as a complement, but it seems that even they have not managed to maintain it.

As the company announces through a letter addressed to the artists and that they have shared from MacRumors, since last December 13, new posts can not be created in Connect . In addition, it has been removed from the "For you" section and the artist pages, leaving only the publication history, which will remain available from the search engine until May 24, 2019, when it will be completely deleted.
