For many 10 GB of RAM that has the OnePlus 6T McLaren, the iPhone XS is still faster

New demonstration that rough numbers are good for little. A few days ago OnePlus presented its brand-new OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition with nothing less than 10 GB of RAM , more than double the iPhone XS.

The partnership with McLaren, historical team of Formula 1, wanted to indicate one thing above all: speed. However, despite having 10GB of RAM the OnePlus 6T is not capable of being faster than the iPhone XS opening applications.

iPhone XS vs OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition

First of all, let's see what each opponent offers. On the part of the iPhone XS we have the A12 Bionic processor and 4 GB of RAM . His opponent, the OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition has the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 and 10 GB of RAM.

The performance test consists of starting the stopwatch on both devices at the same time and opening for the first time a series of apps that range from games to the camera. Once opened once, a second round is made by opening them all again, this is where the 10 GB of RAM should excel. Once the second round is finished, the stopwatch stops.

As we can see in the YouTube channel PhoneBuff the two devices are very even, but finally the iPhone XS manages to stop the clock a little earlier . As is typical with PhoneBuff, for the test it has been used with a mechanical arm to eliminate human error.

What does this mean? That Android needs many more resources to match the speed of iOS. It is true that the OnePlus loses by very little, but it must be borne in mind that it has more than twice as much RAM. However, not only hardware is important, the software behind it is the main thing .
