The App Store is still better than Google Play for developers

App developers still prefer the Apple App Store to the Google Play Store for numerous reasons.

In addition, the App Store leads the economic sector of applications in terms of monetization . In fact, the Apple app store multiplies the benefits of Google Play in paid apps, in-app services and subscriptions.

From Sensor Tower have shared a series of graphs with statistical data on the App Store and Google Play Store that have no waste.

The developers who have won a million dollars
Both in the Google Play Store and in the App Store, there are many developers who have managed to earn their first million dollars thanks to the benefits of their applications, of course without taking into account the percentage that Apple and Google take.

In the graph you can see the comparison of developers who have won their first million in both apps stores . In the App Store, during 2018, up to 164 developers have achieved it in the United States. On the other hand, only 88 did it on Google Play.

Another of the most interesting data shown by Sense Tower data indicates that the most popular application categories are still games and health . On the other hand, social networks, photographic editing, entertainment and education are only found in 5% of the developers.

In the Google Play Store we see something very similar, with games contributing to 84% of consumer spending and a centralization of 65% among developers. Based on these statistics, it is clear that Apple continues to control the domain of mobile applications and will remain the most lucrative company for developers in 2019.
