The new web version of Skype is not compatible with Safari

The new technologies have favored that we are in permanent contact with our loved ones, regardless of their geographical situation. Social networks and instant messaging applications have, little by little, displaced telephone calls, although none of them can compete with video calls .

WhatsApp or FaceTime video calls allow us to have a face-to-face conversation miles away. All you need is a good Internet connection so that everything goes perfectly, without interruptions or crashes. Although they are the most comfortable to use, Skype continues to enjoy good popularity and with millions of users around the world.

The Microsoft service is a veteran in the video call. It has applications for the most popular operating systems , both computer and smartphones and tablets. However, they have just renewed their web version and it is no longer necessary to have the app installed to make calls, although it does not work with all browsers.

The new web version of Skype allows calls in HD, but not in Safari
The interface of the web version of Skype has received numerous modifications to work better than ever, in addition to adding new features such as calls in HD and the ability to record them . All this without having to download your application, which until now was essential.

Among the novelties, such as The Verge account, we find a new notifications panel, a new gallery of multimedia elements with the possibility of finding a specific document or file more easily.

This web version of Skype is compatible with computers with Windows 10 operating system and macOS 10.12 Sierra or later. The problem is that it only works with Edge web browsers and Chrome , leaving aside other popular as Safari, Firefox or Opera. They are expected to be supported in future updates.
